Context

Econo Liquor runs two stores in the Edmonton area. Each needed its own shop with its own stock, while still feeling like one brand that people can find in a single place.

What we built

  • 01A store-chooser hub at the root domain that sends shoppers to the right location.
  • 02Two WooCommerce storefronts on their own subdomains, searchable across roughly 2,800 bottles.
  • 03Editorial, numbered collections: Alberta craft spirits, Canadian whisky, wine under $10, new releases, specials.
  • 04Story-led merchandising, like a short history of Alberta distilling next to the products it explains.
  • 05Tax-included pricing, price filters and in-store pickup.

Decisions

  1. System, not three sites

One design system shared across the hub and both stores, so every location looks, reads and shops like the same brand.

  2. Editorial retail

Serif headlines and numbered chapters make a big catalogue feel curated instead of overwhelming.

  3. Local voice

Copy that sounds like the people behind the counter, not a big-box chain.
